About NIOS exams update
NIOS conducts 2 types of exams throughout the year: public and On Demand.
What is a public exam?
It is open to all candidates and are conducted in various streams.
- Stream 1 block1 for April
- Stream 1 Block 2 for October
- Stream 2 for October
What is On Demand?
Candidates who have failed or have compartment prefer the On Demand examination, which is held in January to March and June to September.

They have little time to study, and they want just passing result.

How NIOS conducts it’s exam
NIOS exams are conducted across the country, practical’s are conducted at your study centre and theory in other centres.
Practical papers typically begin in March for the April session and September for the October session.
Most written exams are conducted in Kendriya Vidyalaya.
One key advantage of the National Institute of Open Schooling is they don’t provide any school uniform to attend the exam.
